Community Events
- Our yearly Community Wide Advisory Meeting was held on October 28, 2009 at 2:00 pm at 1680 Watermark Drive. This meeting allows CHN to bring all of our community wide advisory members together and thank them for their time and participation in the community advisory meetings and it allows CHN to update community advisory members on CHN programs that have Good Neighbor Agreements as well as any other new housing under development.
- Health, Housing and Human Services Committee - City Council Member Charleta Tavares held her annual briefing on October 7, 2009 for Human Service organizations. The meeting consisted of presentations from Community Shelter Board and its partner agencies. Anthony Penn represented CHN and provided a brief presentation on the ADAMH prevention program. The ADAMH prevention program is funded out of Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program stimulus dollars. These dollars will allow CHN to provide housing placement assistance to applicants currently living at Twin Valley Hospital and other ADAMH funded residential programs who were homeless prior to admission or lost their housing during their stay. Funding will be used to pay short-term rent assistance, security deposits and deposits for utilities.
