Rent Credit Program:
Rent Credit Program is designed for tenants who owe delinquent rent or have unpaid bills with CHN. "Our goal is to help tenants pay off past due amounts so they may continue or resume paying current month rent on time and in full. Our program represents one of the newest trends at CHN Employment Center." Helping individuals achieve self determination and sufficiency is part of the mission. We are able to work with many individual scenarios or situations, such as: employed, underemployed and unemployed, permanent or temporary disabilities, onsite or offsite jobs, transportation assistance available. Jobs include Common Area cleaning and office work on special projects. To register for Rent Credit participation you will need to attend Rent Credit Eligibility Workshop on Friday's between 8 am - 12 pm at 1680 Watermark Drive, Columbus, OH 43215 or call Nicholas Ard, Employment Specialist at 487-6721. Based on need and availability a work assignment will be offered. Assignments are first come first serve. We are focused on helping tenants who already owe past due rent. Tenants are encouraged to find other solutions for paying current month rent. Rent Credit participants will also join Job Readiness Training and/or utilize Career Computer Lab Open Hours. This is a temporary solution and there is an annual earning cap of $500.00. Rent Credit is a great opportunity for those considering a transition back into the working world.
The Ticket to Work Program:
The Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Program is an employment program for people with disabilities who are interested in going to work while retaining benefits. The goal of the program is to increase opportunities and choices for social security beneficiaries to obtain employment, vocational rehabilitation, and other support services from public and private providers, employers, or other organizations. This program is designed to give you a fresh start in the workforce at a pace you are comfortable with, and to give you the security that during your transition you will keep your medical benefits.
