Ticket To Work Kick Off
On April 27, 2010 CHN Employment kicked-off its very first Ticket to Work event for our tenants. The Ticket to Work and the Work Incentives Improvement Act of 1999 was designed to ensure that Social Security beneficiaries with disabilities receive the services needed to obtain and maintain gainful employment. The Act makes it possible for working SSI or SSDI beneficiaries earning more revenue to keep medical coverage if needed. Working beneficiaries expand earnings potential, and forgo annual review of disability status.
The CHN Employment Team is proud to be an Employment Network and to begin helping our clients take that step to meaningful employment. During the kick-off we had over 48 tenants in attendance, along with six employers from various agencies enjoying a pizza lunch and learning about Ticket to Work. The CHN Employment team has already begun the follow-up process to ensure that this event and program continues to be a success not only for our agency, but for the lives of our tenants.
