Hawthorn Grove apartment community is located at 550 E. Rich Street. The beautiful structure, which echoes the residences that once graced the neighborhood, replaced a vacant parking lot. The building provides 39 one-bedroom units of housing for people disabled by mental illness and one resident manager's unit. All 40 units are rent-subsidized to limit the rent burden on our residents to 30 percent of their income. Community Housing Network and its partner organizations invested approximately $6 million into this quality structure. CHN manages the property and coordinates community services. The Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County (ADAMH) offers onsite supportive services, including recovery, wellness and employment-related programs.

Resident Services

Hawthorn Grove offers residents supportive services that enable them to find work, maintain their treatment and recovery and eventually give back to the community. This supportive housing environment also provides peer support and a sense of community; both of which are often lacking in the lives of the target population.

Project management

CHN has a 24-hour, on-call capacity and a constant presence at Hawthorn Grove. The complex also has a live-in resident manager.
